I’m a fan of making up my own words. I’m a fan of fashion. However, I’m typically not a fan of fashion trends that require a new name and/or hybrid of existing words to describe them (case in point: jorts, skorts. I shudder.) Now there is a new term to add to the jumbled jargon of the fashion world: Joe Dahan of JOE’s jeans is launching his interpretation of the “jegging” next week.
Not quite jeans and not quite basic leggings, JOE’s jeggings are available in 42 different washes and treatments (yes, 42!). They retail from $82-$98 at Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue.
hybrid fashion term + not budget fashion friendly X (years of playing soccer + Mexican mamá) = I’ll stick to Joe’s Jeans Honey Booty Fit
I dunno. IF I was blessed enough to have sky-high gams, IF I had no booty and IF they were more reasonably priced, then maybe I could get on board with these. Maybe. But ditch the term jeggings, please. The fashion lexicon has suffered enough.
What do you think?
