San Francisco embraces and promote people’s creativity! When the Texas Sodomy case was in the news the San Francisco city attorney said “We don’t tolerate diversity, we embrace it”.
7. What should we bring when we visit? What should we leave with?
Bring an open mind and walking shoes. Leave with a warm spot in your heart for San Francisco.
8. What do we absolutely have to see while we’re there?
On a very clear, early morning you should watch the sunrise over the Golden Gate bridge because it changes colour with the light and becomes an amazing electric red.
9. Any areas of town we should avoid?
There aren’t many but there are very specific spots with should be avoided at night: lower Polk and Hyde street, 5th & 6th street and Fulsom and Market, and Mission bay at night.
10. Any local secrets you want to share?
There’s a book called “Stairway Walks in San Francisco” by Adah Bakalinsky and Marian Gregoire. It contains step-by-step route descriptions that include notes on historical background, architecture, and other points of interest.
