Diva Minds Want to Know…

1. Where do you like to flirt?

My favorite bar in Chicago would either be Bat 17 in Evanston, amazing sandwiches and good beer, or Guthrie’s Tavern on Addison, a bar which allows take-in orders and has every board game ready for your enjoyment—oh the ceilings tiles are each individually painted and on request you can take home a blank tile to paint yourself.

2. Where is your favorite table for two?

There is a magical restaurant “Mystic View Matala” that resides on a cliff side that overlooks the south shores of Crete, Greece. It is located in a small town called Matala, and has the most amazing sunsets on display every night—not to mention phenomenal food.

3. Where should we stay when we visit?

If you’re going to visit Greece then you must make it to Luotro in Crete. A small harbor down residing in a calm clear cove with no roads or ways of access besides ferry. The food and local culture here are off the charts, stay at Hotel Daskalogiannis and chat it up with Coco, the resident African Grey Parrot.

4. What qualities do you find irresistible in a woman?

She’s got to be funny, intelligent, outgoing, and loves dogs.

5. Where can we find you on a free Sunday afternoon?

In Chicago, if I’m not still sleeping you can most likely find me outside with the dog or at the park.

6. What do you love most about your hometown (besides our arrival)?

Lake Michigan is a safe haven for Chicago. If you come visit my city you must take either a tour on the lake or through the Chicago River. The greatest vantage points of the city are only obtainable from a small boat or kayak.

7. What should we bring when we visit? What should we leave with?

If you’re going to Greece, pack light…you won’t need much. If you’re coming to Chicago, bring a winter coat.

8. What do we absolutely have to see while we’re there?

Greece has so many historical sights to see; I think it’s best to let The Northwest Passage plan your trip so all you have to do is enjoy it. (cough-cough, unabashed ad there! But the more people who go, the longer I get to be over there!) In Chicago, you have to go to a Cubs game.

9. Any areas of town we should avoid?

Be street smart wherever you travel, if you don’t think you should be somewhere, chances are you shouldn’t.

10. Any local secrets you want to share?

Clubs in Greece don’t get pumping until after midnight so don’t be a dweeb and check out around 10! Chicago’s Wiener Circle Hot Dog Joint is a sight to see on a Friday evening after the bars have cleared out, just don’t order a chocolate milkshake…you’ve been warned.
