For the past 2 days, I have been living in luxury at the St. Regis, Punta Mita. Here, on this small peninsula 30 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, the world’s best chefs and wine makers have descended on the private community of Punta Mita for the annual Golf and Gourmet Classic.
For the next days, international chefs take to the stage to create magical menus that are carefully paired with wines from around the world. Within the gates of this secluded cove is the famed St. Regis hotel and Resort and it is here that most of the events take place.
When guests arrive to the St. Regis, they are greeted with a glass of Veuve Clicquot before being escorted to the opening party. Veuve Clicquot is the champagne sponsor – which is apropos for an event of this caliber.
American Airlines sponsored the magnificant Opening Cocktail Party. The scene was ablaze with international socialites and famed chefs serving up incredible edibles. Renowned Chefs Abraham Salum, British Bernard Collins, Argentine Pobre Luis, Australian Andrew Ormsby, Brasil’s Rodrigo Oliveira, Italian Celestino Drago along with his colleague Ian Gresik joined celebrated local Chef Thierry Blouet of the renowned Café des Artistes in Puerto Vallarta and Punta Mita along with host Mexican Chefs. Wine & Tequila tastings with participating Sommeliers and Tequila Masters.
