Hello from the Eco Diva

Hello Fellow Divas!

I just wanted to say a quick hello and thank the women of Tango Diva for giving me the opportunity to share some eco-friendly tourism options with their Diva-licious readers. Over the last few months, I have been researching and compiling some great info. on Green Travel and I can’t wait to share it all with you!

What is Green Travel? Well, there are a few definitions. But I like how travel writer Sarah Schlicter defines it in her article, "Green Travel Tips: Leaving nothing but your footprints." Sarah explains… "at the heart of the matter is the importance of protecting the natural and cultural environment of the places you visit. That means conserving plants, wildlife and other resources; respecting local cultures and ways of life; and contributing positively to local communities."

You can also travel "green" by opting for transportation options that leave less carbon emissions in our air, using environmentally friendly products while you travel such as biodegradable sunblock or even choosing hotels or tour companies that donate a portion of their revenue toward environmental causes. I’ll also be featuring a handful of volunteer tourism options that will give you the unique opportunity to make a world of difference in the communities that need it most. Throughout my series of blogs, you’ll discover that there are a ton of things that you can do in order to respect our planet while exploring it.

Stay tuned…

Happy Travels~
