Dean and Me: In the Eye of a Hurricane

I am in Playa del Carmen. A lovely little town 45 miles south of Cancun and in the direct path of Dean. The sounds of hammers and saws fills the usually-quiet air as the residents board up windows and doors. The hurricane is expected to be a category 5 and will be slamming into Playa in 12 hours.

We are staying at Hotel Qunita Roo. The staff has been wonderful. They have filled our room with food and water for a few days. But we are going to stay at the school that I am taking Spanish lessons at. It is the International House, which is an international language school based in Barcelona.

I will try to take and upload as much video as I can. It is tough because they will be shutting off the electricity and water tonight.
