To celebrate their 40th anniversary, ExperiencePlus! Bicycle Tours announced a Pisa-to-Venice cycling trip June 6-17, 2012, hosted by two generations of the founding family.

ExperiencePlus! Bicycle Tours started in 1972 and was the first North American company to offer pedal tours in Europe. They’ve since stashed many awards under their belt, including the prestigious National Geographic Traveler 50 Tours of a Lifetime in 2010 and 2011.
The 12 day/11 night bike tour is priced at $4,495 per person, double occupancy. While that may seem like a steep price, the itinerary makes it awfully tempting. The route covers up to 339 miles with daily distances averaging between 26 and 53 miles. The perfect pace for experiencing Italy the authentic way (with lots of pasta and gelato of course).

The tour begins in Lucca and hits Pisa, Florence, Ravenna, Ferrara, many intriguing Tuscan towns, and ends in enchanting Venice.

The route is the original one taken by Rick and Paola Malpezzie Price, the founders of ExperiencePlus! They will join the tour as well as their daughters Maria Elena and Monica Price who in 2008 assumed ownership and management of ExperiencePlus!

Maria Elena Price said that the Pisa-to-Venice itinerary is one “our long-time customers will remember fondly, as some have done it multiple times.” It remains one of their most popular tours.

Enjoy gourmet meals, wine and excellent company through the rolling hills of Tuscany on this Diva-approved cycling tour!
