Diva Minds Want to Know…

1. Where do you like to flirt?

It’s always best to flirt in a place that’s happy and relaxed. One of the happiest places in Los Cabos is the Tequila and Ceviche Bar at Las Ventanas. Our tequila class is an excellent place to flirt! You’re sipping shots, trading laughs and learning something new, while meeting new people who are there to have fun.

2. Where is your favorite table for two?

Los Cabos has become one of Mexico’s hottest culinary spots. You can find everything from gourmet cuisine to roadside tacos. I’m partial to the Cocina del Fuego, seafood and meats cooked on wood-burning grills at the Sea Grill at Las Ventanas. It’s right at the edge of the Sea of Cortez, so the views are stunning.

3. Where should we stay when we visit?

Where else but Las Ventanas—preferably in a Luxury Rooftop Terrace Suite. Las Ventanas is the originator and trend setter of all that is renowned about Los Cabos. It was the first luxury resort and remains the only Five Diamond property in Cabo. Everyone has imitated Las Ventanas, but no one can equal the personalized service, the intimate setting and the romantic ambiance. And I recommend staying in a Luxury Rooftop Terrace Suite, because your private terrace overlooking the water makes you feel like you are on top of the world, embarking on an adventure on the Sea of Cortez. It’s spacious, private and ideal for couples.

4. What qualities do you find irresistible in a woman?

Directness—saying what’s on her mind and in her heart. And a joy for life that’s expressed in her enthusiasm, mirth and ability to laugh at life—and at herself.

5. Where can we find you on a free Sunday afternoon?

Walking on the beach, taking in the sea air and the cacophony of the sea birds, letting the ebb and flow of the tide rush over me, and letting my mind wander—though always coming back to contemplating the tasks and challenges in the days ahead.

6. What do you love most about your hometown (besides our arrival)?

The sunsets that splash the sky with a dazzling array of reds, oranges, yellows and purples. Or maybe the inspired fish tacos that are the best in the world. But mostly, it’s the Mexican hospitality. The people are genuine and sincere. They truly love their country, they’re very proud of Los Cabos and eager to share it with visitors. That makes for a very pleasant experience.

7. What should we bring when we visit? What should we leave with?

BRING: Expectations and desire for an unforgettable getaway are what you need the most. But just as important is what you should leave behind: your worries and your hectic schedule. Bring a willingness to go with the flow of Los Cabos and you’ll experience the tranquility, peace and contentment that a memorable escape will deliver. LEAVE WITH: An intention to return. The sun in your smile and memories in your heart that it was the ultimate vacation. We wave goodbye to all our guests as they depart. Many have tears in their eyes. We know they’ll be back!

8. What do we absolutely have to see while we’re there?

The baby sea turtles that hatch each year in late summer and fall. The mad dash from the nests in the sand at the edge of Las Ventanas to the safety of the sea, escaping the hungry diving gulls is a sight to see. It’s nature at its most spectacular. Since we want as many of the “tortuguitas” to survive as possible, we give nature a helping hand by waving the sashes our beach attendants wear for belts to scare away the squawking marine birds.

9. Any areas of town we should avoid?

There are excellent restaurants and bars in Cabo San Lucas, but beware of the tourist-trap bars where they slap a big sombrero on your head and encourage you to down tequila shots. At the very least, ask for a good tequila!

10. Any local secrets you want to share?

Lover’s Beach is not just for lovers—don’t be fooled by the name! It’s for people watching and to immerse yourself in a cross section of Cabo, both tourists and local residents. The spot is still beautiful—an arc of white sand, next to the famed rock arches (Los Arcos), reached by the glass-bottom boats that go back and forth from the port of Cabo San Lucas. Don’t expect any privacy at Lover’s Beach, but you will enjoy the soft sand, the dramatic rock formations and the surrounding sea life.
