Diva Minds Want to Know…

1. Where do you like to flirt?

With my wife. Wherever I can. :)

2. Where is your favorite table for two?

Starbucks. Blue Moon Pizza in Smyrna and Marietta. Flip Burger Boutique in east Atlanta. The Chocolate Bar in Decatur.

3. Where should we stay when we visit?

Pick a high rise. Any downtown. If you call me early enough you can stay with us. I’ll charge you one day’s babysitting for free room and board. And you’ll have to share a room with two young girls. Unless you can convince my son to give you his bed for the week. But he’s an entrepreneur and might charge you.

4. What qualities do you find irresistible in a woman?

Self awareness and a willingness to explore.

5. Where can we find you on a free Sunday afternoon?

Napping with my wife. If not, my wife will drag me to a Gwinnett County Park or visiting Stone Mountain Park. Gwinnett parks are some of the best I’ve seen and I’ve been to over half the states. Stone Mountain Park is a pay-to-enter park. It has a lot of history about it, a carving on the “mountain”—the term mountain is used loosely. It’s mostly a large hill that happens to be made of rock. The train ride is cute but the braking system will kill your ears. They have a few short shows scattered throughout the park. Some of Stone Mountain Park is cheesy but it’s still worth the entrance fee.

6. What do you love most about your hometown (besides our arrival)?

Easy access to anywhere. International airport. A few hours to the beach. A few hours to the mountains. The fact that its industry is varied. Just about every major sport type is here. Eating out is a must, almost a law.

7. What should we bring when we visit? What should we leave with?

A copy of my book. I’ll sign it for ya. :) If not, you should leave with a copy. :) Bring walking shoes. Most events are within the busing/rail system, but sometimes it is easier to walk. Also most places to see like World of Coke, The Georgia Aquarium, Stone Mountain Park et al. are geared for walking around the facility. Lots of walking. Lots. If you visit in the summer, it gets 90 to 100+ degrees here. And its humid! If you visit in the spring be prepared for thunderstorms. Most of them happen around 4pm.

8. What do we absolutely have to see while we’re there?

Me. World of Coke. Margaret Mitchell House (Gone with the Wind). The Georgia Aquarium. CNN tour.

9. Any areas of town we should avoid?

Areas around the airport.

10. Any local secrets you want to share?

Buy a map. For some reason the names of streets are alternately labeled. It’s as if the street planners think you know EVERY street and have lived here since birth, ie: not every street is labeled.
