1. Where do you like to flirt?

Online :)

2. Where’s your favorite table for two?

Wow, so many places it’s hard to narrow it down. Favorite place to drink would have to be Sheffield’s, where the Drinking Liberally events are held here in Chicago. Excellent beer list and they know me way too well now. For food, probably Bistro Campagne, a great little French place in my neighborhood.

3. Where should we stay when we visit (besides your place)?

There’s a ton of cool hotels downtown in Chicago, but I’d have to go with the Hotel Monaco myself because they provide gold fish for your room.

4. What qualities do you find irresistible in a woman?

I like a woman who’s a bit challenging to me. Somebody who can kinda see through my BS, but lets me get away with some of it. Somebody who will introduce me to new things. Somebody who’s a bit of an idealist. Also, somebody who recognizes what a truly hilarious person I am is always a plus.

5. Where can we find you on a free Sunday afternoon? Just roll over?

Likely I’ll be wandering with my camera somewhere in the city. A good bet would be down by the lake front, take photos of people on the beach, or people playing sports in the park.

6. What do you love most about your city (besides our arrival)?

There’s such a huge variety in Chicago. It’s a big city, and yet I feel like I know it really well. The area where I live is pretty quiet, not what you normally expect of a city, but a short L ride away is the skyscapers of downtown.

Also, I love how walkable the city is. I love walking everywhere if I can manage it. My car is practically unusable from how little I bother to drive it.

7. What should we bring when we visit your town? What should we leave with?

You should bring an appetite. Chicago is of course known for some of the most ridiculously unhealthy food on earth (stuffed pizza’s anybody). But the variety and quality of the food is just amazing. Want Korean food at 3am? I know the place. Want high end deconstructionist food cooked with lasers and liquid nitrogen, you can get it here.

As for what to leave with, probably an extra few pounds from the food, but it is so worth it.

8. What do we absolutely have to see while we’re there?

The must see is the Chicago Art Institute. It’s really one of the best museums in the world, especially if you’re a big fan of impressionism. I can’t say I’ve ever really thought of myself as a big art person, but I absolutely love it there and when friends visit, it’s always on my to do list for them.

9. Any areas of town we should avoid?

Just stay out of the suburbs. If you want to come here, raise a family, and have a little space, there are a lot of nice places out there. But I can’t imagine why you’d want to visit them.

10. Any local secrets you want to share?

A lot of tourists come here and visit the Sears Tower Sky Deck. It’s okay, but the better option is to go to the bar at the top of the Hancock tower. It’s not quite as high, but the view is awesome, and having a nice (overpriced) drink is way better than standing in line with all the other tourists. Also, I’m told that the best view of the city is from a window in the women’s restroom, but I can’t vouch for it personally.
