Thin Wallet, Fat Taco in San Francisco

Thanks to all the holiday deals out there you may be a tad short of cash for lunch. You don’t have to spend the wad to have a great time. Fat Taco is an adventure for visitors or downtown worker bees.

First you have to find the place. Follow the many signs leading you to their secret location in the back of Club NV. Owner Quan and his easy on the eyes assistant Li Wah great you with smiles when you find your way to their M-F pop up tacqueria.

It’s really cold in there, but clean with no signs of the previous night’s debauchery, just the aroma of yummy quesedillas, burittos, & their signature tacos. Unlike the nearby taco truck, chips & salsa are complimentary.

Order up your meal in regular size or fat. Take out or eat in on one of the nightclub tables. For 75 cents you can get an extra dollop of guacamole, or trade it for free for the sour cream you don’t want. There’s yucca fries, plantains, and soft or crispy tacos. Yum.
Call ahead to have your order ready, no waiting in long lines here.
