With locations in Atlanta, New York City, and Miami, Social Diva is a free e-mail newsletter and website that keeps subscribers in the know about what to do and where to go in these cities. When Peg’s not hosting a fabulous Social Diva soiree, you can find her chilling in the Hamptons or sipping cocktails in South beach. New York is her home now—until she takes over the West Coast, that is.

Before Peg Samuel decided to launch Social Diva, she spent her career using her savvy marketing skills to help companies such as The Weather Channel, weather.com, and infoseek.com (acquired by Disney). Between power lunches and social cocktails, she founded the Atlanta Interactive Marketing Association and was their Social Diva Chairperson. With her classic business sense and her social butterfly skills, she decided to kick off the hot Atlantic dust and head to the Big Apple, where she did more than lunch. She launched Social Diva, an online social community with an impressive calendar of events, hot happenings, and sophisticated shopping venues for her well-connected clientele.

We caught up with her between wine tasting in Napa and partying in San Francisco. Here’s what she had to share with us:

What was the best decision you made in your life?

Moving to New York City. I had always wanted to do it and was at a time in my life that I knew I would regret it forever if I didn’t. Now that I have so many wonderful things have happened. This city is far from easy, but there is so much opportunity here for me and my business, and I am taking advantage of the many things NYC has to offer. I’d suggest that anyone who can do it—even for a year—should live here.

What is your most memorable travel moments?

The first time I went to Europe: it was so exciting and beautiful. The fun was exploring how to get around, walking the streets, hearing all of the accents, and trying to communicate for the simplest requests.

What was the worst travel experience you’ve had?

Anytime my flight gets delayed beyond belief. I try to look on the bright side; however it is so disappointing when you have arrangements and have to wait.

What have you learned about yourself through traveling?

How self sufficient and logistic oriented I am. I very much enjoy boarding a plane and getting from A to B, and having everything organized for the trip along the way.

If you could choose your ultimate travel companion, living or dead, real or imaginary, who would it be?

Someone who knew as much as Rick Steves, was VIP as Madonna, as fun as my best friend, had as much money as Trump, and was as gorgeous as Sting.

What moment in your life did you feel the most alive?

I feel the most alive when I can be present in the situation, and can somehow let the stress melt away.

If money and time were no object, where on earth would you go?

I would either plan an extensive trip around the world flying to each destination that I would like to visit, or I would like to take a beautiful yacht around the world and port at many beautiful locations.

Who is your hero?

I don’t have one.

Name a place that you’re an expert in and would be a great resource for our Divas. Tell us about it.

Miami. It is so relaxing and has a nice European flair. With the palm, trees, sun, and beautiful boutique hotels it is a great weekend getaway. [Visit www.socialdiva.com/miami.]

And finally a word from our Featured Diva, you in your own words: give us a stirring, Diva-worthy battle cry for women everywhere to hear!

More Everything! It is the tag line for my business, and it really is a place that I strive to be. The more you can enjoy yourself and the more that comes to you from within, the more satisfied that you can feel thinking, “I’ve really enjoyed myself and I want more of this feeling.”
