My girlfriends and I (total of 4) have reserved Podere Vigliano for the first two weeks of Sept. 07. We are so excited. I found Sue Condon’s guest house via a dental sales rep. who stayed there. Like Sue, I work in a dental office in the East Bay.
I am a former “stewardess”, there were no “flight Attendents” when I started fyling in 1966. I have been widowed for 6 years and have had more fun traveling with girlfriends.
Any suggestions for our trip to Umbria? Do you think spending a night in Venice is a stretch? I have been to Italy before and have seen most of the required tourist spots
but the girls want to see it all. So glad I found your website………

Yes I think one night in Venice is called for. But consider if its your first nite or your last.
I would think heading to the hills first and relaxing would be nice. Then leave early on your second to last day and spend most of that day and nite hitting the sites and shopping. Hopefully your flight is in the eening – so that makes nearly 2 full days to play.

I would love to give you some advise on Venice and other magical spots in and around Umbria. First a little bit about me: I am Tango Diva’s Diplomat for Italy and a girl that just got married in Venice (check out my profile for some cheesy pics my friend’s took as I am still waiting for the professional ones). Being the proud founder and CEO of Incantato – Essential Experiences – a travel company that specializes in off-the-beaten-path trips Europe, I would be more than happy to help you make the girls happy and let them see it all. For Venice, you may have been there many times before, but have you ever stayed in the former Jewish Ghetto? Would be utterly relaxing for you as it’s tucked away from the main tourist flow with great restaurants and bars just outside your door while your friends can venture to all the major site and then reunite with you for aperitivo etc. Or how about spending a night on the Lido which is again short a short boat ride from St. Mark’s?
I strongly suggest you ladies include Venice in your upcoming trip as it is such a magical place and although I have been there at least 20 times so far, I cannot see any reason to stop coming back as there is still so much to see, do and experience.
