1. Where do you like to flirt?

I like to flirt on the ski slopes. Michigan has several small resorts (perfect for learning the sport) that attract healthy, professional, full-loving people enjoying our short winter. I love to share tips and tricks about learning how to ski in a flirtatious way and then having a cocktail with them by the fireplace in the lounge later. Check out Michigan.org to learn more.

2. What are your favorite places to eat and drink?

There’s a little place called the Rochester Cafe on Main Street that does a fun and unique breakfast. For dinner, the Rochester Mills Brewery (Water & 4th Street) has good food and wonderful fresh beer. And after dinner, the Hamlin Pub (Rochester Rd. & Hamlin Rd.) offers good service with live music most nights.

3. Where should we stay when we visit?

The Royal Park Hotel is fantastic—just a short walk from Main Street in Downtown Rochester. Celebrities and common folk alike choose The Royal Park Hotel.

4. What qualities do you find irresistible in a woman?

Wit and the ability to multi-task. Smart, funny and organized women are a turn-on. When women can juggle work, school, exercise, and kids—and still find time for me, wow, I’m amazed (and pleased).

5. Where can we find you on a free Sunday afternoon?

Not watching football. In the winter I teach skiing on the weekends and in the summer I will be working in the yard or going for a bike ride.

6. What do you love most about your hometown (besides our arrival)?

I love the fact that I’ve grown up here. I’ve watched the town grow with me. Rochester (and Rochester Hills) has expanded for sure. However, it still has that small town feel with everything you could want or need nearby.

7. What should we bring when we visit? What should we leave with?

A camera and bike. With a wonderful downtown and several parks, you’ll find an enjoyable time riding around and taking photographs. Leave with knowledge that there is another “Rochester” to visit (outside of New York and Minnesota).

8. What do we absolutely have to see while we’re there?

The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm is a treat. In the summer and fall be sure to check out the
Downtown Rochester Farmers’ Market every Saturday morning. And the big event of the year is the Downtown Rochester Christmas Parade held on the first Sunday of December.

9. Any areas of town we should avoid?

No, it’s a fun safe town most of the time.

10. Any local secrets you want to share?

In the fall, visit Goodison Cider Mill for the best cider and doughnuts. It’s just north of downtown on Orion Road.
