The spirit of the Master of American Modern Dance, Alvin Ailey, lives on through the colossal talent of his legacy dance company – The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

This year marks the company’s 53rd birthday as it embarks on whirlwind tour of 27 North American cities. Rave reviews are rolling in for this celebrated troupe’s astounding presentation of new works and repertory favorites under the directon of Artistic Director, Robert Battle.

Highlights Include:

Paul Taylor’s Classic – Arden Court (1981)  A dynamic dance set to  a sumptous baroque score by William Boyce featuring striking duets, solos and a men’s sextet that showcases the dancers’ skill and musicality.

Rennie Harris’ Hip-Hop SaluteHome (2011)  Soulful music and street dance that resonate with today’s real world challenges…recounting inspiring battles – lost and won – against HIV.

Alvin Ailey’s Timeless Masterpiece – Revelations (1960)  A Tribute to African- American Heritage. A spiritual journey of courage, sorrow and joy…and the strength of the spirit.
