On Saturday, September 6, 2014, thousands of bike enthusiasts will journey through British Columbia via bicycle. Why? Well why not.

GranFondo (“the big ride”) gives cyclists – beginner and advanced – the chance to ride fully supported from Vancouver to Whistler on the Sea to Sky Highway in a dedicated lane, enjoying the gorgeous views Canada has to offer, like this, for example…

The welcome events start on Saturday, September 6, an Lions Gate Bridge, where athletes check in and get acquainted with other riders and absorb what they are about to experience.

The GranFondo is 122km, and it can get a little exhausting. For people who just want to take it easy, the Medio is only 55km and starts at Squamish instead of Vancouver.
