Divas! Online maps are fun to create and share. Looking to create an online world travel map of your own for bragging rights, to share with friends and family, and to chart your progress around the globe? Here are some of the most popular:

1. TravBuddy

Calculate the percentage of countries in the world you’ve been to on TravBuddy! I’ve been to a paltry 23%. Sheesh! All those airline miles make it feel like way more. Check out my map at http://www.travbuddy.com/widget_map_display.php?id=1619594.

2. Where I’ve Been

Where I’ve Been is touted as the most popular world map application on Facebook, and its software also lets you integrate your map onto your myspace page. I use this application on my Facebook page because it’s simple to use, and the graphic interface is satisfying and clean. Click on different countries on a world map to indicate that you’ve been there, want to go there, or have lived there. Easy!

3. TripAdvisor

TripAdvisor is also a very popular world travel map. It allows you to place pins on its world map so you can count up not only countries visited but cities as well.

4. Facebook Applications:

Facebook offers over 50 map applications to share with friends, some with only a handful of users. The most popular are Where I’ve Been and TripAdvisor’s Cities I’ve Visited, both with about 100,000 users. Facebook lets programmers create and share a wide variety of applications, and wouldn’t you know that travel and the sharing of life’s voyages would be chief among them! :)
