America’s most unique wine experience ever! Presented by USA TODAY, this truly national exhibition features wines from Virginia and over 25 other states. It provides a first time opportunity to sample, compare and contrast wine from well-established wineries in traditional wine-growing states alongside wine from smaller, artisan producers in less-familiar wine regions.
The exhibition promises to be an exciting American wine tasting and culinary experience not found anywhere else. The inaugural National Wine Experience (NEW) launches on November 20, 7:30 to 11 pm, with a Grand Tasting at the Newseum, Washington’s newest and most interactive celebration of U.S. journalism and media. The event showcases wine from every region of the U.S. and features the extraordinary talents of award-winning chef Wolfgang Puck, as he interprets American regional cuisine and pairs his innovative dishes with wines from across the country.
The Grand Tasting will be accompanied by a sampling of extraordinary artisan and specialty cheeses from the American Cheese Society. While guests work their way through one region to another, they will enjoy the sounds of cool jazz, another American innovation. Each attendee receives a beautiful, world-class Riedel crystal wine glass.
